This monument, which stands directly across the road from the remains of the Patchen Post Office, was dedicated on May 20, 1950, having been provided by the California Centennials Commission and mounted on a concrete slap provided by the Los Gatos Lions Club. It was restored a few years later by the Los Gatos DAR and is occasionally tended to by the Loma Prieta Chapter of E Clampus Vitus.
