Septic Systems

The goal for this exercise is to fully satisfy the perc requirements with the minimum damage to the Christmas tree crop, understanding of course that eventually we need to do considerable trenching, which will require further losses. In order to locate the desired hole locations and consider minor adjustments, we first need to walk to each hole. Rather than scale dimensions from the pdf or get out the transit, an easier, albeit a bit less accurate method is to use GPS and Google Maps.

The first image on the right is a jpg of the pdf supplied by Paul, but with red enunciators added to pinpoint the hole locations.

Below that, is a screenshot of a Google Map of the area, with the hole pattern, derived from the pdf, overlaid on it. Some fudging is required to get the satellite images to match up with the survey system coordinates correctly but it is close within a couple of feet.

The table below shows the GPS coordinates of each of the hole locations. Using the image on the right and a smart phone, we should be able to walk directly to each hole, using the phone’s GPS receiver. The reference point in the table is the 3/4″ iron pipe in the private road, where it bends to the north about 100 feet in from the Old Highway.
