The Raft
The raft had an 8ft tower from Clifton’s with a spring board that extended out a few feet, so the height above the water was around 10 ft. That was enough so that after some practice, we could do back flips and summer salts, with occasional painful belly flops With only occasional belly flops
The raft was just passed the drop off to insure enough water depth for diving, but not far enough out to interfere with water skiing traffic. The depth around most of The Lake was no more than 30 feet, and that was a reasonable length of chain to secure an anchor. Our anchor was an old metal bed frame.
