Kamala: Hello
Xi : Hello, is Joe there?
Kamala: No, this is Kamala. Can I help you?
Xi : I don’t think so. I need to talk to Joe. When will be be back?
Kamala: Well he is here but he is taking a nap and we never know when or if he is going to wake up. Can I have him call you?
Xi : No; I don’t want him to have my number. He annoys me when he whispers into the phone all the time.
Kamala: Ok; who can I tell him called?
Xi : Xi, you know, Xi Jinping from China.
long pause, followed by giggling
Kamala: China is a country! Countries are created when people come together and have free elections to form their own government. These countries all have names. The United States is a country. I don’t know why they called it that because the people are not united, but we have lots of people and we all have fun together.
Xi : I guess I better call back later.
Kamala: Ok, I will tell Joe you called – Bye Bye for now.

Joe : Hello
Xi : Hey Joe, this is Xi.
Joe : Kamala said somebody from China with a funny name called the other day. Was that you?
Xi : Yea Joe, that was me. I wanted to talk to you about Chinese Taipei.
Joe : I had a Chinese Taipei one time when I visited Chinatown in San Francisco – delicious.
