Favorite Places
I have been around the World a few times and traveled quite a lot in Europe, Asia, and Central America, but the two continents still on my list are South America and Australia. I have seen plenty of poverty elsewhere, so I don’t feel a need to go to Africa, but I would like to see the Egyptian pyramids up close. There are several places in the Middle East, like Esfahan and parts of what is now Iraq and Syria, that I would like to see, but the political situation does not allow that.
I have traveled in all the States except Alaska, and I hope to mark that one off my list someday. A few spots in the USA that I have explored but don’t make my favorites list are New York, Los Angeles, and most other large American cities, as they have deteriorated in recent decades. We don’t even drive the short distance to San Francisco anymore since it has declined so terribly with drugs, crime, and basic sanitation.
I have a lot of favorites, but the top two on Earth remain Patchen and Fisher Lake.
